Goal: To write as detailed as Possible & To write exciting

Can you please comment feedback about my story!

I smiled as I walked out of the door while carrying my huge black bag, despite the bags heaviness I bounced up and down and put my bag in the boot of the car.

FINALLY we sorted out everything, so I hopped in the car (Along with Ellie Libby Bruce Bonnie & mum). Bruce started the car and off we went, then the car turned into a cheetah.

We stopped the car at one point to have a picnic but it was raining so instead we just had the lunch in our car!

We had a bun with cheese and ham in it also we had juice and yogurt YUUUUUMMMM. After that we hit the road!

Bruce all of a sudden stopped the car, mum started whispering to Bruce. I asked where are we mum? She said we went the wrong way. My stomach churned over I felt sick,the juice curdeld around in my stomach now we had to wait even longer to get to Rotorua!!

“Fern come on wake up” said Bonnie shaking me, everyone walked out of the car carrying as much gear as possible. After I had done my fair share of transferring items back and forth, I walked inside and we chilled for a while exploring the place when mum said wanna go to the park, so we did.

When we got there we saw a carnival going on in the background so instead we went there, when we realised that I was to short to go on any of them.

After the carnival we went back home and chilled out and mum ad Bruce started making dinner ( chicken pasta and feta) after we had dinner there was HeApS of leftovers. Afterwards we went ten pin bowling.

At the ten pin bowling place you had to wear socks because they provided shoes that needed socks. So when we got there we went up to the counter and did all boring stuff, blah, blah so afterwards we ended up wearing shoes that fitted us and our names above our lane on a tv screen!

So we started and Ellie was up first she got 4 then Bonnie went up and got 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 WAIT BONNIE GOT A STRIKE, ON HER FIRST GO. Sadly I forgot my score but overall Bruce came first Bonnie came second and I came third YAY.

After the excitement of coming third we were allowed to go to the arcade and I got everyone at least one piece of candy afterwards we went home and slept.

In the morning I woke up and half an hour later mum said ‘ do you want poached eggs on toast?’ I said “yes please just one”. I went into the kitchen and mum let me make my own cup of tea so I sat down with mum and with my breakfast and after that everyone was ready we packed our swimming gear and we went in the car and off we went to Taupo.

When we jumped in the car I said to mum “can we not get lost this time?” Mum laughed and said grinning “ we will try”!

For the WHOLE trip I was bored out of my skull until, we stopped the car and hopped out, this wasn't Taupo but it was HUKA FALLS!!

(15 mins out of Taupo basically)!

“We are going to have a look around Huka falls before we go to Taupo” Mum said, smiling. We walked onto the bridge and looked down, our heads hanging over the rail. I looked around  in awe, “that is really light blue water” I said with my mouth open and my eyes wide. Bonnie Ellie and Libby immediately started taking photos enjoying every single bit.

Mum and me walked around, going as far as we could go, meanwhile Bonnie rushed over showing us ALLLLLL of her photos as for Bruce he was just walking looking on the bridge. 5m later we walked to the car and Ellie and Libby was showing us their photos. Once we hopped in the car we were on the road… AGAIN.

Once I hopped out of the car the concrete grabbed my feet and tripped me up slightly, anyways that’s beside the point we had arrived at the Taupo thermal pools with three spiraling water slides and steaming pools.

We went to the register desk and  everyone but me and Bruce wanted a wrist band to go on the waterslide. So I went into the bubbling water with mum and after ten  minutes we decided to move into a different pool and when we did Bonnie Ellie and mum went on the waterslide.

Some time later (10m)  Bonnie Ellie and mum decided that they would go on the slides so mum asked Bruce if he could watch me while they were on the slides meanwhile Ellie and Bonnie were trying to persuade me to get a wristband to go on the waterslide “no thanks” I replied, before I could say anything more mum Ellie and Bonnie slid away to go on the waterslide…

5 minutes later they all came back down “mum can I please have a wristband” I said, I hopped out of the pool and mum took me to get a wristband.

I ran up the steps to the slide and pushed myself forward and I went spiraling down, in it there was a really dark part and you would nearly flip upside down. 500 turns later I went back into the pool with mum 5 minutes later we hopped out and got changed and went back into the car, mum said I could have an up n go so I did and then we went home (Rotorua).

Once we got home it was say about 5:00 and I said “ Can we go to rainbow springs?” so we did and the lady said that we can come back tomorrow because the ride was closed and if you buy a ticket after 5:00 you can come back the next day.

So we walked around and we saw a place were you get to see live kiwis. So we walked in and straight away saw a huge kiwi and it was so adorable. We looked around for a little longer then we left the kiwi area.

Ellie said that there was a playground somewhere so we tried to find it and we did but on our way we saw birds, one of the birds talked to us and said hello and do you have a bird. We could not stop talking… Whoops I mean THEY could not stop talking.

Once we had finished with the birds we went to the playground and at the playground there was a big swing, little swings, a slide, a climbing wall and much more other stuff. I jumped on the big swing and  seeming that I was tired I almost fell asleep…..

The best thing about school this year

The best thing about school this year is…

That they have made the system in the class rooms exciting, like instead of having to be told when to finish a certain subject eg. Writing reading and maths. In 10.11 we can decide what we want to do and when we want to do it and for as long as we want.

We also have tracking books (a book with what we do in it) and they help me alot because normally you wouldn't have to write anything down because the teacher knows what the whole class has done but in 10.11 you would need to write it down because the teacher doesn't know what you are doing… I think that 10.11 is the best classroom I have ever been in.

Algebra

This week 10.11 learned Algebra.

I booked into the workshop with Mr A and here is what we had to do:

So there was a snail stuck in a well 26 metres deep and in the first hour he went up 5 metres but then the next hour he dropped 2, back and forth. Our task was to track on a spreadsheet how many hours did it take for the snail to get to the top, the spreadsheet kinda looked like this:

As you can see it took 15 hours for the snail to climb up the 26 metre well.

And that is a part of algebra.

This week 10.11 was introduced to a game (on the field) that includes Throwing, Catching and Kicking, Here is how to play

WARNING BEFORE YOU READ ON YOU MUST KNOW THAT THIS MIGHT MAKE NO SENSE.

So you go into groups of like 10 or 11 and there is a fielder team and a kicking team, you create a circle with cones except the cones are spaced out and you will also need three bouncy balls . So the fielder team spaces out and the kicking team lines up a bit back from the other team so the first kicker walks up to the three balls and kicks all of them meanwhile the fielders try to run after the balls and bring all of them back to were the kicker kicked meanwhile the kicker runs up to the first cone or even keeps running to the next cone because the balls arent all at home. Then if the kicker manages to get to the first cone without the balls all being back then the team gets a point, then when the next kicker comes up and kicks then starts running to the cone in the meantime the first kicker starts running when the 2 person starts running and son on.

This week

So far this week I have tried something new, Had a rough challenge and Mastered something.

So on Monday I went to this workshop called Epic Reading, I wanted to go and I learned that it is a website with books on them and you have an account and you choose what books you like then it pops up on the home screen recommended books for you! Also on Monday I Mastered my nine times and nine divides. On Tuesday (yesterday) we were allowed to do our carnival art, I am partners with Maliesi and we are going to do cute purses with faces on them and it was a huge struggle sewing up the material together.

Improper Fractions Workshop

On 29.08.16 Mr A took a workshop on improper fractions. An improper fraction is when the numerator is bigger than the denominater. Here is an example: 24/5 but we had to turn it into a mixed numeral and here is another example: 9/7 = 1 whole and 2/7 so imagine that there were two circles and they were both cut into seven pieces and you would shade in all of one circle and then shade in two of the other circle and the bottom number of 9/7 will always stay the same and you shaded in 2 of the second circle so that would be the first number. I hope you learned something!

Auckland And Wedding Story

On Friday 13 May 2016, Mum, Bonnie, Bruce, Me and most of my other family went to Auckland for my cousin's wedding. Gwendoline my cousin, she is famous for being on an adults show Spartacus. She married Jeffery, he's a sports reporter we call them Gwen and Jeff. So we started driving and we put a movie on (we had 2 mini tvs in the car), we watched the pirates. In the middle of watching a movie one of the kids spewed and I smelled it and all of a sudden I felt really sick. After a while (1 or so hours) we stopped at Tiffany's (all of the family agreed to meet up at that place) some of the family was already there but some wasnt. Me and Bonnie had a bowl of chips each I was really starving and I couldn't wait to eat! But we shared them with our family. After a while all of the family was there but when Liam's family came we had to leave for our SURPRISE. So once we had got in the car we settled down and drove into the distance. We arrived and had a few troubles those troubles were traffic and wondering how to get there but we got to the place in time. I was the only one not knowing what the surprise was but I guessed it right it was ICE AGE LIVE!!!!! I was so excited I almost passed out. We had dinner there as well. After ice age live we went to our house I was so tired. We were in the same house as Liam, Amy, Glenn, Ethan and Mitchell. So we went home and mucked around a bit then went to bed. We woke up and saw Liam standing outside our (Bonnie and me slept in the same room) door and we were eating our breakfast in bed! Once we had finished our breakfast we played with Liam then mum said we could have a flavoured straw (because Liam brought flavoured straws with him). Me and Bonnie had cookies and cream it was very sweet, Liam had banana, they tasted really good. A few hours later we went to the beach and me and Bonnie went with Amy because they had rented a new car with 7 seats (mum and bruce went in our car)! We drove to the beach but on the way we saw a sign that said BE CAREFUL FREE RANGE KIDS. After that me Bonnie and Liam were a little bit creeped out. Once we had gotten out of the car we walked down to the sea and saw… LOADS OF SEA FOAM!!! We played with the foam for a while and then went back in the car. We went to the supermarket and the parents went shopping while we stayed in the car (mum and bruce were following us when we were going to the supermarket).The parents brought pizza garlic bread and juice! Mum and bruce had left to go buy coffee so we drove home and after we all had showers ( bruce and mum had come) we had pizza garlic bread and juice! After that we played on our tablets for a while and then we got to GET READY FOR THE WEDDING!!! So I got my dress on then I asked mum to do my hair which was a side ponytail then I put in my bows. Then I did my makeup which was just some lipstick and then I put on some of mum's perfume. So we all went in our separate cars and drove of to the wedding. Once we had gotten to the wedding we said hello to everyone and then started taking a few pictures. After a while we walked to the place where all the chairs where and sat down.Gwen took ages but then mum told me that brides on their wedding day are supposed to be late but that seemed weird to me. Finally she walked down the aisle and then the relatives that had a part in talking talked and then they got married! After that we stayed on the lawn where they got married and and all the kids got a sparkling grape juice and then some young waiter type people served some snack food. My cousin Amber said make an open space for the people with the food and they would come towards us then she said earlier she went to grab some food but then the boy walked away. After a while we went near the place where we would have dinner and there were drink dispensers and I got a couple of drinks then after five minutes we went in the place where we were gonna have dinner and dessert and speeches and dancing! We had walked in and I was told to sit at a certain table with some of my younger cousins and Bonnie and someone called Julian and his sisters. We had played around a bit and 2 of my cousins taught me a move that james( my grandpa) does. We also had sparkling grape juice at the table and they would keep refilling! 10 Minutes later we had dinner and there was loads of food to choose from. We had all grabbed a plate and choose what we wanted then we sat down and started eating. After dinner some people did speeches and they were really funny and sad at the same time. While the people were doing the speeches some other people had set up dessert so after the speeches we had dessert. There was so many yummy things AND MY FAVOURITE WAS YUMMY DOUGHNUTS WITH CHOCOLATE IN THE MIDDLE. After dessert there was and band that played music and guess what no one would go on the dance floor but my family started the dance craze! So I started dancing and it was fun and finally Liam came on the dance floor and we danced so much until it was time to go home so we did. So we went home and got changed and went to bed. In the morning we did the usual then we got packed up and went to Bruce's and Mums friend so we drove on to their place it took about half an hour and then we finally made it. So when we got there she asked if we wanted a drink of coke I said no but bonnie said yes and she had also brought out some chips and a sweet bun. After 5m we were on the road again. So mum told us that we were going to Huntley and we did. So we arrived at the place and I got a bowl of chips and so did bonnie mum got bacon and eggs and toast ( it was kinda in the morning) Bruce got toast and a bunch of spreads like jam and marmite in packets so we took some home! Once we had finished we hopped in the car and started driving. We had gone halfway but then we stopped at this place and brought some fruit and vegetables. Then we hit the road again. WE FINALLY MADE IT!!! Once we got home we relaxed so much! THE END

Mysterious Place

I walked through the gluggy slippery path, leaves plummeted down on my bitterly cold body. Shadows of tall rough trees prickled on my trembling skin, the feel of slime soaked into my boots. Shards of sun peeked through the crisp soaked leaves. I took in the sound of  steps chugging through the pool of sludge, will these be my last steps on the world I thought to myself. Waterfalls of darkness flowed through the atmosphere. This is all a dream I thought. Howls from wolf’s pierced my tender ears, all of a sudden I fell down deep treacherous hole...

The Attack

Boom! Sparks of fire and glass shooted up into wobbling eyes. there were dead bodies soaked in blood. I surely would be one of the collapsed bodies on the ground if I didn't hurry. Blood was up to my knees and trickling down my body. Ash was covering everything in sight. The fire stood tall as I was shrinking. I felt another deafening vibration, I toppled over and bricks fell down as fast as a rushing river. That was the end of everyone. I was the only soldier on my side standing, still alive, breathing, I needed to escape. As guns fired I as running away from certain doom. I heard another loud BOOM. I felt faint. My face was drooling with blood. I was probably deaf and cuts smothered by body but I had to keep going. The lifeless grass was covered with skin, glass and blood. There was no possible way of giving up now I was so close until....

Reflection on my learning Term 2 week 4

This week I have been learning : About Penguins.

I found it hard because you need to search for info and it takes so long to search and get the real information ( penguins).

I am proud of that I continued on researching at home and at lunch which was good because we got a lot of information and i took time but it was worth it (
penguins)!

Something I have improved on this week:My basic facts goal which is nine times table I used to not know my nines at all but now I do ( maths)!

My next step is to do more spelling so that I get all my words right and be an expert on spelling (spelling city).

This shows how much i've been concentrating on my work and finding out about penguins and learning my times table.

Asking Questions

Asking Questions In Reading

Asking Questions is when you see a text that you don't really understand or just wondering about things in the text. It also could be how people do amazing things that makes you question how the people do such things. Or it could be something simple like a typo, different fonts and much more simple things in writing.

If you don't ask questions then you will never know the true meaning of a book or a text in your favourite book.You have to question to be able to learn and if you don’t learn then your brain stays there doing nothing. If you ask questions then in your brain neurons (neurons are what makes your brain grow stronger and smarter at the same time they look like wires but in your brain)  will connect together.

How We Learn (on the blog) look for…  THE BRAIN THAT DOES THE WORK DOES THE LEARNING there will be a video underneath the words only if you want you can watch it and it tells you why neurons are important.

For example:This book that We are using is called the 26 story treehouse the text is

‘Sorry about the ride’’ says terry ‘I don't really know how to fly these things’’That's quite okay’ I said untangling myself from the tattered shards of rubber.’But what I want to know is why were you even wearing your emergency self inflating underpants?’ ‘because all my other underpants are dirty’ says terry.’That's why I was washing them rememberer?’ ‘Oh yeah’ I say ‘that seems like so long ago now’’It's only been two hundred pages’ Terry says.’Two hundred and thirteen actually says jill. ‘But there won’t be many more pages in this book if we don't protect the treehouse against the pirates look there already here. The end of the page!

My first question was what are self inflating underpants ?

Why do the pirates want to get the treehouse so badly?

What is the thing that terry is bad at flying?

Thoughts and Feelings about Camp

I’m  excited to go to camp. I’m excited because I haven’t been to a school camp before so I can discover new things.

I’m  nervous to find out who I’m sleeping with because I want to be with my friends .

I need to know what food we are having because I can be picky with food sometimes!

I think that I will be warm because I am bringing my onesie.

I wonder if it will be hard setting up the tent, because if the tent is huge that would be hard.

I am worried because I normally can’t go to sleep straight away

I like swimming in rivers because it's really cold sometimes.

I hope that we will be playing loads of cool games.

I will need to bring a few bags of equipment

That's pretty much all of my thoughts and feelings about camp.

Online me Vs Offline me

When I'm online I always go onto games. I also like writing stories about magical lands and adventure. Its fun to mail my friends. Skyping is cool because I can connect to other people and talk to them. When I’m offline I like swimming also jumping into pools. I love Baking With mum and licking a bit of the mixture. I love animals so much. I often colour in. It's surprising to find toys and clothes I forgot I had. I like biking to spotswood. That's what I like to do.
